Then there is the element of charm. This is the essence of the house that makes it feel like home. Perhaps a bench in the garden area, or landscaped yard that surrounds the deck, decorating style that perfectly blends with yours…the charm envelopes the emotional part of the decision.

Naturally, price and square footage are critical. As is the age of the house, will you be looking at major maintenance issues in the very short future?

But it’s also important to think about the future resale value. Is the house on a steep incline a better deal than the one with a flat lot, which is $5K more expensive? I’ll help you decide.
